You Have to See These Insanely Beautiful Looks From Afropunk Festival

This is Afropunk Festival's 11th year of celebrating black arts and culture. It was held in Brooklyn over this past weekend, bringing together thousands of people who came to see art and fashion and listen to music. Aside from the obvious festival appeal, thousands of people attend for the purpose of immersing themselves in a welcoming, positive, and totally inclusive environment. (By the way, “thousands” isn't an overstatement at all. According to MSNBC, this year's festival brought together an estimated 60,000 people… so far. It just keeps getting bigger and better.)

As always, this year's event had no shortage of amazing beauty inspo. From understated makeup to face paint and neon accents, it had a little bit of everything. Instagram is proof of this, as so many of our favorite accounts showcased their own take on Afropunk style. That's why we decided to round up over favorite Instagram posts straight from the festival. Keep reading to see the 10 best looks from Brooklyn's 2017 Afropunk Festival!

This image speaks directly to our deep and eternal love for peach-colored hair. (And in case you're trying to learn how to achieve the right shade or maintain the color afterward, check out our full rundown on peach hair.)

How pretty is this look? We love her monochrome makeup that makes her skin, hair, and outfit shine through. Try Nudestix All Over Face Color in Deep Maple ($30) to achieve this look.

You can never go wrong with glossy pink lids, especially when you're wearing a pink outfit (are we annoying you with our love for monochrome yet?). If you're inspired to replicate this look, try using an Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette($42), which is full of warm pinks, reds, and oranges.

This woman's single bantu knot and white face paint made for a simple yet impactful combination. She looked like a strong warrior queen.

This year's Afropunk attendees seemed to love bright eye shadow. The turquoise (especially when juxtaposed under fiery orange hair) made for a perfect festival look. Try an Urban DecayEyeshadow Single in Haight ($19), which is a gorgeous mermaid blue.

One word: stunning. Especially since the rest of the skin is kept fresh and natural. This is proof that a little face paint, shimmery shadow, and magenta lip stain are all you need.

This look is more low-key, but that doesn't mean it's any less notable. We like how she paired her light braids and John Lennon-approved sunnies with a coral lip. Nyx Cosmetics' Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp ($7) is our go-to pinky orange.

Honestly, have you ever seen hair more cheerful or just plain gorgeous? This reminds us of a festival-ready, celebratory take on Rodarte's Spring 2018 show.

These sunset eyes are almost too pretty. They've inspired us to try this look out on our own. We'll use Rimmel London's Exaggerate Eyeliner in Emerald ($5) and Jane Eyeliner in Gold ($11).

Instead of bright eye shadow, these women let their sunglasses, hair, and outfits do the talking, save for a colorful lip. We especially love the unique light blue lip shown here. Try Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Dreamer($20).
